The changer button doesnt work, You have to manually change the cords from one computer to another which kills the purpose of the product. Saw some descriptions of this product and decided to buy it. NOT WHAT IT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED. If I want to manually change like that I wont need the product then. Well.it turnout not to be true. The items doesnt work with two computers.
I replaced it with an iogear unit which works much better, but still seems to have issues with remembering the custom key settings. I have a laptop running Vista and a desktop running XP, and I use a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard. :) I'd stay away from this belkin unless you really, really want to have a little wireless puck on your desk that doesn't work half the time. More on THAT in another review. This unit was extremely frustrating because one minute it would work perfectly, and the next I would zero response from the unit when pressing the button. Even more frustrating was the fact that it would switch without warning, and any time it switched there would be a significant delay before I could use my mouse or keyboard again (4-5 seconds).
I am using it on 2 different computers using 1 monitor and set of speakers. This is an excellent product and works as anticipated.
Easy to switch back and forth between pcs no issues with mouse keyboard monitor would be nice if Belkin added printer to the mix.
I got it at first to use with my laptop and desktop. Until the product came in, they suggested going to the Belkin website and installing a Flip program available, which allows for the control of the switch through the taskbar.
The physical switch of the second was different from my first one, and the cables were slightly longer.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and ability of this item. It came in very handy as you can switch just the audio to the other source if you would like to using it.
I've had this item for 4 years. About two years in, the remote changer became inoperable, and after a call to Belkin, they sent me a totally new product and I sent my prior one back to them.
When I eventually get an upgraded computer and monitor, I'm hoping to get their DVI switch as well. It's been nothing but smooth sailing.
Since my laptop at the time was near the end of its battery life, I left it with power and used my monitor and keyboard to use with both my desktop and laptop.
